the electrode wire for mig/mag welding shall be copper coatedsolidcontinuous filler wire of size 1.2mm dia with good weldingcharacteristics suitablefor welding steel to is2062/2011. thecopper coating of the wire(excluding theresidual copper content of the wire)shall be 0.20 to 0.40% by weight. wireshallconformto irs class 1 of rdso specn.no.irs m46/2013 withamendment no.1.thebrand shall be approved by rdso under irsclass 1. the wire shall be wound in thespool in "layered woundmethod" (and not random winding method) ie.the wire shallbewound in close layers and in each layer,the wire shall be woundin close lineswithout any gap/over lapping between the adjacentwindings. the maximum weightof the spool should be 12.5 kgs.
